We introduced you to Auto Marine Improvement last month, and immediately started calling it AMI because typing its name in full was giving us blisters. The company specialises in interiors, and as we mentioned in passing last month its product range includes a handy gas bottle locker for your 110.
Actually, it doesn’t have to be a 110, but the locker will go into ‘any flat panel with a suitable space behind it.’ Which rules out an awful lot of vehicles that aren’t Defenders, obviously, but if you have something else with a flat panel they’ll happily fit one in it for you.
The unit is sealed and vented (which sounds like a contradiction in terms, but the law of the land comes before the laws of physics relating to wet mud and handy apertures) and will take a gas bottle weighing up to 3kg. It’s a tight fit, but it’ll squeeze in just behind the nearside back wheel of a 110 (no, smartypants, not the 110 that you’ve just finished bobtailing), keeping it handy and out of the way.
